The new plant produced 60 pairs per hour, quickly becoming the go-to footwear for farmers, factory workers. and anyone needing protection from the elements. Demand surged so rapidly that Wisynco moved from one shift to two, then to a full three-shift, 24-hour operation—manoged by David Kerr and Joe Mahfood working 12-hour shifts to oversee production. During this period of growth, the Mahfood family also expanded with the births of Andrew (now CEO) and William (now Chairman), sons of brothers Sam and Joe Mahfood.

1971
